Welcome to the Fun World of Dancing!

You've come to the right place to learn how to dance! First, read about how to choose a class and level. Then, take a look at our schedule section to see all the classes where you can start. Take your pick from a variety of Contemporary and American Style dances.

For the Contemporary dances, the first class of the evening is generally for beginners. You can start in any week of the month unless otherwise noted. You can progress to more advanced classes in each dance after you feel comfortable with the beginning level, and we often have practices or parties where you can show off your new skills.

To begin learning basic ballroom dances, start with Scott Patterson's Friday evening American Style Rotation classes. Scott teaches an introductory lesson in two similar dances from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, then teaches a Beginner/Intermediate class in a third dance from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Each week, Scott teaches a different set of ballroom and nightclub dances, so that beginners can get a taste of everything over time.

By attending either Friday evening class, you can stay for the regular Friday night Ballroom Dance Party from 9:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. You can also attend a supervised Practice Session in the Junior Ballroom from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm with Scott, where you can practice the steps that you just learned in a warm, encouraging environment ... before you forget them!

Private lessons (one-on-one) are a vital part of many successful dancers' schedules. To Experience the benefits of private instructions, the "Get Aquainted Special" is offered to new students at a special savings. To set up an appointment, call Scott directly at (650) 738-9580.

Then, beginners can advance to Arthur Calandrelli's Monday evening American Style Bronze (beginning level) classes. Arthur will concentrate on the same two dances each week for the entire month, so students can thoroughly build a foundation in those dances. Advanced dancers also attend these classes to polish their basic skills.

After all these classes and practices, any dancer will feel confident gliding across the dance floor at any party!
