Come to our Special Events and Workshops!

We make extra efforts to bring special events, performances, and workshops to the Allegro for you. Whether you are a novice dancer or a Gold level competitor, you can always learn something from our visiting professionals and you will certainly enjoy yourselves at our social events.

SPECIAL EVENTS

We have a number of special events, ranging from inviting World Class Champions to teach and perform on our floor, to organizing dinner dances where you can eat, visit, then dance all night. Our events have included:

• Our famous annual Chinese New Year party, where we provide a buffet dinner, Lion Dancers and special exhibitions along with lots of dancing.
• An annual dance and show to raise funds for breast cancer research. All proceeds are donated.
• A World Class Champion couple from Italy who performed and taught private lessons on our floor in an exclusive engagement.
• Our annual New Year's Eve party, which includes a sit-down catered dinner on our floor before its cleared for dancing ... followed the next day by our traditional Survivors' Day Dance, where the die-hard dancers start the New Year right!
• An organized trip to Blackpool in England, where we witnessed the famous world competition.

WORKSHOPS

Workshops are intense classes where you learn about a specialized aspect of dancing or learn from outstanding, visiting teachers. Dancers of all levels benefit from attending our workshops. Our workshops have included:

• Visiting performers and dancers from around the U.S. and the world.
• Local guest instructors from around the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Specialized workshops in dances for which we normally do not have weekly classes.
• Monthly workshops in topics such as Follower's techniques
